There is so much I want to write on the topic of "Giving and Receiving" because his is such an important topic for us to understand. For now I will just write a simple letter about the topic and later I will dive deeper into the topic's surronding
"Giving and Receiving"
The first scripture that I will be working is:
II Corinthains 9:7 - Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity, for God loveth a cheerful giver.
and then:
II Corinthains 9:6 - But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
1. How should I give: Cheerfully Give
Give where you have joy in giving. For some it might be the church, for some it might be a ministry that God wants you to support, for some it might be our neighbor and for some it might be a stranger. I personally Love to give to strangers, purchase something for them as they check out in line next to me and then tell them "God Loves Them".
Point number 1 is "God Loveth a Cheerful Giver"
2. Where should I Give: "As He Purposeth in His Heart"
Listen to our "Heart" and "Give as You Purposeth in Your Heart". Be lead by the "Spirit of God" and then be "Obedient" give as the "Spirit Gives You Direction. This might sound easy but if you are truly listening to God it might not be to easy. It never seems to amaze me where and to whom God has told me to give. You have no idea how many times I have said to God "Give to them, did you see how they treated me".
Point number 2 is "Give Where God gives you Direction in your Heart"
3. What Amount should I Give: Here I will also say "Listen to Your Heart"
In II Corinthains 9:6 - It says "But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully" and I want you to know I totally agree with this scripture. In time, as you learn "God's System of Finances", and totally beleive in "God's System of Finances" it will bring you great joy to "Give Bountifully" because you will have "Faith" and "Know" without any doubt that you will "Reap Bountifully". But until that time please "Give only as God Directs you to Give" and remember "Be Faithful in the Little Things and God will make you Ruler over many things". Keep in mind that Jesus as he watched many give their tithes and offerings into the Church was most impressed with the Widow that gave a single mite.
Point number 3 is "Give the Amount that God gives you in your Heart to Give"
To finish this letter I would just say
"Freely you have received so Freely Give"
Give knowing what it says in II Corinthians 9:8-11:
"God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God."
I love that last phase:
"Which Causeth Through Us Thanksgiving to God."
See when you go out and tell the people of the "Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ", share the "Love of God" with them, freely giving to them of the some of the "Material Goods" that God has blessed you with, what you cause to happen is those people, that never knew God before, and those who know God, will give:
"Thanksgiving to God"
That is the true: "Gospel of Jesus Christ"
